The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of the San Fernando Valley (NCADD-SFV) promotes the prevention and treatment of, and recovery from, alcoholism and drug addiction through advocacy and education.
We support the recovery of alcoholics, drug addicted individuals and their families and work to reduce the stigma surrounding the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction. The agency formulates public policy initiatives and advocates for legislation and regulations that are in keeping with a public health approach to the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction.
In our public information efforts, we underscore the fact that alcoholism and drug addiction are treatable and preventable illnesses.

Case Manager/Counselor

Case Manager/Counselor: Will work closely with multi-disciplinary team under the direction of the onsite supervisor and the Director of Clinical Services in our Santa Clarita location.

Duties: Assessments, facilitation of groups, provide individual counseling sessions, treatment planning, case management, crisis intervention and progress note documentation to GR, Medi-Cal, PC1210, and DCFS clients utilizing the Addiction Severity Index.

Requirements: Completion of an academic addiction studies program, registration/ certification with one of the approved state-wide certification entities. Candidate must have a minimum of one year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting and excel in organizational and writing skills to ensure timely and accurate documentation.

Prevention Specialist

Prevention Specialist - Assists in the coordination, capacity building, and evaluation of community outreach prevention programs:
Raises awareness related marijuana use and underage drinking of alcohol use in the community:

Coordinates with community organizations, stakeholders, and County leaders to develop and offer outreach programs; and works towards making a positive impact on the community through promoting various awareness programs in Los Angeles County in efforts to reduce underage drinking, and use of marijuana.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ability to plan and coordinate community prevention activities related to underage drinking, and use of marijuana.
  2. Prevention Educational series in the school
  3. Continue strengthening community partnerships among departments, agencies, businesses and existing resources. Prepare and submit prevention paperwork to the Coordinator
  4. Attend and participate as a member of the "core-team
  5. Work directly with Program Evaluators, Community Coordinator Prevention Specialist, schools, and school staff members.
  6. Ability to travel to attend mandatory trainings
  7. Must have reliable transportation and a phone.
  8. Must have a valid driver's license.
